Jeff Tichbourne (Noah Backtalk)
Tournament Head Referee & Tournament Head NSO

Backtalk has been involved in the sport since 2006, when he first started officiating with the Terminal City Roller Girls out of Vancouver, BC. Renowned throughout the derby circuit, Backtalk has traveled all around Western and Central Canada sharing his skill and knowledge of the game with leagues and officiating crews of all sizes.  The Bruise-ual Suspects Tournament marks the 2nd major event Noah has served on as THR in 2013. Earlier this year he lead an officiating crew of 16 at the 2012 RDAC Nationals in Edmonton, AB. This may be one of Backtalk’s last major officiating gigs as he has recently retired from refereeing to pursue a derby career as coach of Mainland Misfits Roller Derby’s Anarchy Angels out of Fraser Valley, BC and a player for the Vancouver Murder. Backtalk is the founder of Team Canada’s Mens Roller Derby (c. 2008) and the Vancouver Murder men’s team (c. 2010), who he currently serves as both the captain and the trainer for.

Cody Kurz (Kurz So Good)

Kurz So Good started his officiating career in September of 2011. Over the past 23 months he has since attended officiating clinics throughout BC and Alberta headed by renowned referees such as Eric Rawk, Seymour Carnage, Sir Osisi, Reverend Riot, and Phillip McCravesse. Always willing to travel, Kurz has found himself officiating all over North America for major events such as Quad City Chaos (for both 2012 and 2013), The Big O (2013), Flat Track Fever 2013, and the 2012 RDAC Nationals. Kurz is currently hard at work earning his WFTDA certification, which he hopes to complete within the next year.
