Roster Announced for Destination: Derby’s 2015 Midwestern USA Trip

Destination: Derby officially announced the roster for the 2015 Midwestern USA journey on their Facebook page yesterday and I could not be more excited about having the opportunity to travel with such a great group of people. Some of them I already know quite well from over the past couple of years, others I will be meeting for the first time as we spend 20-ish days in close proximity travelling together, but there is still plenty of time to become acquainted with one another online as we all work hard at fundraising and attaining sponsorship for the trip.

Without further ado, here are the participants for 2015:

Addy 2 d’juster ‪#‎n10s – (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada)
B’Elanna Torrid #656 – (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada)
Cherri Blaster #6 – (Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada)
D’s Nutz #00 – (Astoria, Oregon, USA)
EZ Bruiser #44 – (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada)
Faye Tality #23 – (Fernie, British Columbia, Canada)
First Aid Kitsch #80 – (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada)

Coach: Coach Rotten (Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada)
Referee
: Derrek “Pumba” Dezall (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)
Manager
: Theophany Tait (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)
Assistant
: Likittysplit (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)
Communications/Media Director: Kevin Dennison (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada)

And, of course, let’s not forget Tuck’Er Out and Roxyzzle, our two canine companions/mascots!

I’d just like to take a moment here to thank Sharyl Raines, B’Elanna Torrid, as well as the other founding members, for organizing this tremendous event and for having EZ Bruiser and I along for the ride. As we will be married in just over a month from now, this adventure will in many ways serve as our unofficial honeymoon (we have other plans for the official honeymoon later)!

As I briefly touched upon in the post announcing the postponement of the 2014 trip, I plan to not only blog about my experiences but also record some of it. My ultimate goal is to bring along my camera (pending it still working) and making a short documentary on the journey from the perspective of Falon (EZ Bruiser) and I as we travel from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan through several states with Destination: Derby. It will be great to meet new people, share our thoughts and experiences and to discuss all sort of issues and topics pertaining to roller derby as it exist throughout the Midwestern region of America as well as back home. Don’t expect anything super fancy, it’s not going to be the next big indie film, but I’m definitely looking forward to giving it a go!

Anyway, stay tuned to the Destination: Derby Facebook page as we will be launching our new official site later in the month. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to send an email to destinationderbymail@gmail.com at any time and somebody will get back to you shortly.
